URGENT LOCATION / OBSTACLE UPDATE!

Due to the tropical depression that recently passed through Florida and the heavy rains that it brought, we will be slightly altering the course for the Bobcat Run this Saturday. Unfortunately three of the obstacles will have to be removed from the race as they were build for specific locations in the park that are now completely underwater and too unsafe for our runners; Mud Crawl, Plank Bridge, and Stream Cross were the obstacles that were removed. The remanding obstacles will still be in place and you will STILL be getting dirty.  We have already mapped out a new course and are still planning to have an amazing  race!

Please note that the main road leading to the start and finish area is also completely underwater and will be closed. Upon entering the park you will be re routed to the Staging / parking area via an unpaved service road. We ask that you be very careful on this narrow path. Please drive slow and watch for cars and other people.

Prepare for rain! We have been receiving heavy rain in this area all week and the forecast will call for rain on Friday and Saturday as well. We recommend that you bring a change of shoes, clothes, towels and a poncho.

Race heats are now final. We tried our best to accommodate all requests. Heats will start 2 minutes apart. If you would like to wait for a runner in a later heat, we ask that you run or walk slowly on the right side of the trail and let faster runners pass on the left.

We will be trying our best to accommodate spectators. Since the main roadways will be closed, there will be limited access to various parts of the park. However we have routed the course for spectators to watch some of the obstacles and cheer on the runners!

Heat and Bib Schedule:

NOTE:

Due to the heavy rains the past week, the main roads in the park are flooded and will be closed. Entry will still go through the main gates, however parking will be en route of a non paved service road. We ask that everyone please be careful in parking, please drive slow and watch out for cars and people. The rain has also made the trails very wet and some parts very muddy. Please wear appropriate clothing and perhaps bring towels and a change of shoes.

Race Location:

Please note there will be a $2 per car entry free into Lake Park the day of the race. We suggest carpooling if possible. Please see the Race Location page for more information and directions.

Registration:

Early packet pickup will be at Lake Park on August 13^th 2010 from 3pm to 6pm at the RED registration tent.  Pickup on event day will start at 8am August 14^th 2010. Each runner will receive runner bag, t-shirt and race bib. There will be three registration tables set up to help get everyone registered in a timely manner.  If you are under 18 years old on race day, please have your guardian with you to receive your packet. There will be no entries on race day. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Awards: Awards will be given for First, Second and Third in Male and Female categories.

Bibs:

Each runner will have an assigned bib number. On your bib there will be a perforated pull tab that you will hand to a staff member as you cross the finish line. This is for timing purposes so please do not tear off until you are finishing the race.

Timing:  

There will be a race clock set up at the finish line as well as half way through the course.  The official time will be controlled by our master computer at the finish line. We will record your bib number as you finish and log your official race time.  As you cross the finish line in order you will also tear off the bib tag and hand to a staff member.  

Heats:

The Bobcat Run will have three heats.  All heats will start in the staging area, please wait in the area marked with your heat number. After the race starts, there will be a 2 Minute interval between each heat.  Our timing software has each bib programmed based on heat numbers and will compensate for the time delay. It is very important your start in your assigned heat for accurate timing purposes and the safety of other runners. The first heat is scheduled to start at 9am.
